FOOD FOR THOUGHT: The Authentic Words

“ I remember Your ancient laws, O Lord, and i find comfort in them. "

Message: 

Years ago i remember that one time when i was buying a pair of shoes, the sales assistant wanted to see my driver's licence and a major credit card in addition before he could take my personal cheque. After i produced all the identification he wanted, i asked him if he knew why he needed all this. " Its store policy, " he said. 

I told him that it was not the real reason, and when he asked me what i meant, i told him, " The reason you need all this identification is Romans 3:23: For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. If man was not sinful, you wouldn't need all this. " 

Our society is built around the premise that a person's word cannot be trusted. But that is never an issue when we deal with God and His Word. 

God always speaks the truth, and He is faithful to His truthful Word. This is where the devil has achieved a masterstroke. 

He has deluded people into thinking that the Bible is a bunch of myths, passed down from generation to generation in the most haphazard fashion. 

Though God has staked His very character and reputation on the fact that His Word is true and trustworthy, millions of people have been led to mistrust it and thereby are kept from the gates of heaven. This is why it is absolutely necessary or important for those who profess to be Christians, to actually live a life of holiness, purity, humility, love and care. Those who have been misled or deluded by Satan and his agents, will see the Christlike character manifesting out of our lives. 

They will see the light of God in us. That light will also affect them one way or the other but in a positive manner. When they see us living a life of obedience to the Word of God, they will begin to like and appreciate our God and eventually they will make a choice to worship and serve the Creator of the heavens and the earth. In other words, they will get reconciled to Almighty God. Their hearts will in the final analysis be knitted to the heart of the Father through faith in Jesus Christ. 

When we take following Jesus Christ seriously and resemble a true Christian character like what the early Church apostles and believers did, winning souls becomes very easy indeed. Fellowship with God becomes very easy indeed. Fulfilment of His Word in our lives becomes very easy indeed. * Lord help us. * The Old Testament prophets did not fritter away their time on peripheral issues. 

When they spoke to God, they focused on His intergrity and trustworthiness. Brother or sister, man of God or woman of God, listen to the words of Isaiah: " Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord is the Rock eternal. " (26:4). Our eternal Rock has the power to bring His Word to pass. He knows no failure. He knows no defeat. 

His Word is tried and tested and He will bring it to pass. You are very safe my brother or sister, if you elect to stand on the authority and promises of the Word of God. 

Meditation: God is ready, willing, and able to fulfill His Word in our lives. 

Prayer: Lord, Your Word is truth, and i can trust it for all eternity, in Jesus name, Amen.
