A Clarion Call To Repentance

READ:  Matt. 3: 7-12 

MESSAGE:

John the Baptist was divinely chosen to herald the birth and coming of the Messiah. At the time of his call, the whole nation was in decadence; the spiritual leaders were not faithful and diligent in their call to service. 

John the Baptist was very bold and fearless in condemning the people’s wrong doings and he also called on them to repent and live right before it became too late.

WHEN GOD IS ANGRY

The sovereign God is the Prince of Peace and a lovely creator. The Bible confirms in (1 John 4:8) that our God is LOVE Himself. In fact, He loves you so much. Despite this point, this same God can be greatly displeased.

(Genesis 13:13) But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.


To express His fury unto the people of Sodom and Gomorrha who erred from doing His divine writ, He did destroyed them with brimestones and fire. 

As if that was not too terrible, people of this age, who shun the gospel and the preachers, who are pleased to enjoy the sinful nature of this world, are meant to experience more horrible judgement at the end of this age than that of Sodom and Gomorrha.
